What this policy covers

This policy covers goodfishkeeping.com and the native Good Fishkeeping iOS app, provided by Chomper Aquatics. External care sources, photo providers, and other websites have their own privacy policies.

Your saved tank

No account is required. On the website, My Tank stores your selected species and care-record snapshots in your browser’s local storage. In the iOS app, these records are stored locally on your device. Good Fishkeeping does not upload your saved tank to an account or synchronize it between the website, the app, or other devices.

You can remove individual species or clear My Tank. Clearing the website’s browser storage also removes its saved selection. Device backups may include app data according to your Apple backup settings.

Catalog searches and network requests

Search terms, filters, and page numbers are sent to our catalog service to return matching species. The website and app also request pages and images. Servers receiving these requests receive technical information such as an IP address, request URL, and browser or app information. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process this information in operational and security logs.

Some species photographs load from external providers, which receive the technical information needed to deliver those images. Opening a care-source link, photo credit, or other external link takes you to that provider’s website. Avoid entering personal or sensitive information in catalog searches.

Website analytics

The website uses Google Analytics to understand visits and how people use the site. Google Analytics can use cookies and similar identifiers and process information such as visited pages, referring pages, device and browser details, and interactions. Search and filter values may be included in page URLs reported to analytics.

The native iOS app does not include Google Analytics, advertising SDKs, or an app analytics SDK. If you open the website from the app, the website’s analytics practices apply to that visit.
